I went for an early dinner with relatives visiting from the United States who are staying in Boldon. We tried Leonardos for the first time and were extremely impressed. The restaurant was very welcoming and accommodating for families, as we have 4-year-olds. The menu had a good variety of options, there were excellent happy hour deals, and a specials board to choose from. The food was top-notch, we had pizzas, pasta, and I tried the beef stroganoff which was delicious. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was nice. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend Leonardos to others.
If you're searching for authentic Italian cuisine without any frills, this may not be the right spot for you. The pizzas and pastas here are just not up to par. The pizza crust is too soft and bread-like, with an odd taste. While the toppings were fresh and decent, they didn't come together to create a true Italian pizza. The pasta was cooked properly, but the sauce lacked flavor and any unique elements. Leonardos is a modern, clean, and pleasant spot, located above a pub. No complaints there.
We’ve been to this restaurant several times and it’s always been very good. Food is excellent staff are friendly and it’s reasonably priced. The restaurant has recently started opening on a Sunday until 8pm so we popped in. The food on this occasion was excellent. As I’ve said it’s always very good but possibly because the restaurant was quiet it was exceptionally good. I would highly recommend it.
This restaurant is amazing. I have visited multiple times with my family or just my wife. I have never been let down. The food is outstanding, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere is always warm and inviting. We always talk about trying a new place, but we never want to risk being disappointed when we have such a great experience here.

We have been a visitor to this restaurant for many years and experienced wonderful service and good quality food and spent thousands of pounds in the process. Our last experience ,however,was very , very disappointing .
I’ve been here quite a few times with friends and family and although it’s changed hands; the food is still as delicious as it has always been, if not better. I have never found a fault except for eating too much!!
