Les Foudres - Réserver une table

Je suis vraiment reconnaissant de ma chance de pouvoir dîner dans des restaurants incroyables à travers le monde, chaque nouvelle rencontre j'essaie de la saluer avec ouverture et générosité. Cela dit, nous avons tous des préjugés, c'est humain. J'ai été emmené à La Foudres par des amis chers qui apprécient certainement la bonne nourriture et le vin, alors j'étais plein d'espoir, mais je ne m'attendais à rien de spécial. La Foudres est vraiment spéciale et c'est une belle surprise à bien des égards. I went to this restaurant for a special occasion. The price for the menus was not as indicated on the website but higher. The wine accompanying each course was not only too expensive but too much in each glass. The plates were rushed. We were left with wasted wine snd still far too much for anyone who might drive after dinner. A good sommelier could pair one wine for a few courses. If you pair a single time for each course the size of the drink must be smaller. For two people to have a dinner that results in over a 600 euro bill is absurd. Additionally the restaurant is charging higher prices than smother local Michelin star establishment but no longer has the chef who achieved the star. The...

Beautiful space, lovely tables and a discreet and upmarket atmosphere. Very professional staff, but see below. Very good food, excellently presented with one or two memorable dishes. Good for a special occasion. The wine list mark up is absurd for some wines, and the pairing costs food/wine likewise. We also had a waiter who, when we told him we would eat a la carte, told us what HE would order in that case. Sorry I'm not interested in his preferences.

Wonderful venue, very unique. The food was good with a well balanced menu complimented by wonderful service. Pricing was fair for the quality provided. A much needed boost to Cognac dining options and I would highly recommend it.
