We visited on a Saturday and realised the E19 menu was not available as it is the weekend. We were shown a menu which had a set price option and a slate with a range of options. From the slate we selected beef for 2 people. It was a VERY large portion and delicious. We couldn’t eat it all so the waiter boxed the rest to take away. We also had a bottle of sparkling water (which was AOC), some olives (in lieu of a starter) followed by fig desert and coffee. We then had a large shock! The bill was E110! Yes E110. The slate were were shown seemed to indicate E17 each for the meat. We saw prices for everything and were expecting a bill of around E70. Clearly something went wrong. I now suspect we got someone else’s bill as I have since read that the hotel does offer a E110 menu. We should have questioned it but we were very embarrassed and don’t like to cause a scene. We also had the waitress standing over us waiting to be paid. The printed receipt did not help as it was not really itemised. At that point we did not know about the E110 set menu. It was not a mere language issue, my husband has a degree in French, has had spells living in France and is pretty much fluent.
Stopped here for lunch after reading good reviews had the most delicious meals. Service was friendly and efficient, my French was limited but waitress spoke excellent English. We ate the burgers, butternut pumpkin risotto, and the truffle risotto. All of our meals were excellent, and cooked as ordered. Would highly recommend great value for money and truly delicious.
