was spending a few days exploring the lesser known parts of the verdon and the haute var and made our way up to Bargeme simply because it looked so pretty, with a largely intact castle dominating the plain in front. what a beautiful place, lovely feeling, and then onto the restaurant. no airs or graces, just sit where you like, take in the vista, and enjoy some great local cooking. stuffed tomatoes were up there with the best and the skinny local lamb tasted of the mountain herbs it had fed from. delicious, homely, and welcoming. going again as soon as I can. (note: currently a sunny day restaurant, but they're closing for a bit to build a covered dining area sometime in autumn 2016 which is good news for future winter days)
