We did not stay here but visited the restaurant . Our experience was very much spoilt by the service. The lady who welcomed us and served us all evening ( in fact was the only person serving) after seating us commented that we had come to eat good food there because english food was so bad. We decided to drink wine by the glass as I wanted Rose and my husband wanted red. We ordered a second glass of Rose and the lady brought a different wine than I had first had and then argued with me when I refused to have it. She reluctantly served me another of the same but was obviously not happy as she had to open a new bottle to do so. The service was slow and although the food was OK the portion size...
This was part of an organised wine tour in st emillion, lunch should have been one of the highlights.Let's focus on the positive , quick and efficient service.Som people like duck as a course but not two courses in a row, did we have a choice, no that was all that was given. Both entree and the main. The main was again a roasted duck, beans with roasted sliced potatoes. I could not stomach anymore duck after the entree. My partner had a dessert but that was not good. Nous nous sommes arrêtés ici un vendredi soir sans réservation. Nous avons trouvé l'endroit au hasard alors que nous circulions dans les environs proches de chez nous. Le personnel était extrêmement sympathique et très disposé à faire face à notre manque de compétences en français. La nourriture était très bonne. J'avais un plat de pâtes et mon mari avait un steak. Avec le vin et le dessert, j'ai trouvé le repas d'un très bon rapport qualité-prix. J'adorerais y retourner pendant la journée lorsque vous pourrez vous asseoir dehors car le cadre dans les vignobles locaux est charmant.
Nous avons réservé pour le déjeuner le jour de la fête des mères et le restaurant était très fréquenté. La terrasse était magnifique mais l'attente était interminable : il nous a fallu 2 heures pour manger une simple salade. La table à côté de la nôtre n'a même pas été commandée après plus d'une heure. Nous avons décidé de sauter le dessert et de rentrer à l'intérieur pour éviter de devoir patienter encore une heure. La nourriture était bonne mais les portions étaient trop petites. Le service était correct.
Nous avons déjeuné ici samedi dernier et nous avons été tellement impressionnés par l'ambiance, les vues, le menu et le service attentionné que nous avons réservé pour le dîner hier soir et un séjour d'une nuit aux Chambres D’hôtes également. C'était fabuleux, une excellente nourriture et du vin, le tout à un prix très compétitif, et un séjour très confortable au milieu des vignes avec le meilleur petit-déjeuner aussi. Merci à Laurence et à l'équipe, nous reviendrons vous voir.
We had a lovely meal a few days ago - couldn't fault it. Full of locals, a group of German tourists, and us.My French isnt that good but the staff were helpful and friendly - didn't make us feel stupid - as tends to happen sometimes in other restaurants. But - they did laugh when my husband ordered his steak well done!!!The terrace looked lovely but it was raining when we were there - so had meal inside. Nothing bad to say about this place.
Nous sommes venus après 13h sans réservation, mais une table était disponible. Le restaurant était très animé et rempli de locaux appréciant la nourriture. Nous l'avons également apprécié. Cuisine française typique de la campagne. Hôte très brillant qui parlait très bien anglais et nous nous sommes sentis les bienvenus.
