Les Remparts - Réserver une table

As you would expect from the name this restaurant is located just under the famous Chateau Castelnau Bretenoux. It's essentially a cafe/brasserie with a large sun terrace, plenty of room, a private car park (you cannot get closer to the chateau) and a lovely large...grassy play area for children one level below the eating area so they are still in sight. Perhaps Opera night at the chateau was not the best night to try it out and we were advised not to take any of the menus which sounded tempting but have one dish and if time dessert. we have this restaurant because of its wonderful location and the stunning view from its outside terrace. it was half a week when we visited and we were a family of 9 with two of the party were very young children. from the moment we arrive, nothing was too much annoyed. the waitress and waitress were both charming, helpful and a real joy to engage. they really help make the evening a success. the selection of food and drinks was really good. the menu is cheap and when the food arrived, it was well presented and very tasty. the real bonus with this meal was the place and in the position to observe the sunset of our sitting. it was amazing. a fantastic location at the foot of the castle, magnificent sunset and a great little play area so that the children can walk around while enjoying their meal. eating is very good, we ate from the 25 Euro Set menu that everyone enjoyed....You have a children's menu, chicken nuggets, burgers, chips. we had to ask the burger to be cooked a little more because he was very rare, but that is common in France. overall a pleasant experience and we will definitely be back.

Nous avons appelé spontanément en passant à l'heure du déjeuner. On nous a offert une table en extérieur sous un auvent avec de belles vues sur la campagne. Nous avons opté pour des pizzas car nous avions mangé beaucoup de plats locaux riches et elles étaient excellentes avec une base fine et croustillante et beaucoup de garnitures de qualité. Le personnel était poli et efficace.

Had dinner in Les Remparts on Sunday evening. Superb setting in the grounds of Chateau Castelnau. Spectacular views from the terrace and delicious,well priced food. There is a playground for children and bi-lingual staff. I would definitely recommend it. The only criticism were the flies...which were abundant on such a hot evening!

my man and I have gone to this restaurant for years, at least 3 times a year. eating is always good and consistent, the menu has a large selection, and the service is friendly and efficient. the view from the terrace is breathtaking. I. recommend this restaurant!

Rude staff. Decided to stop allowing customers access while others were allowed in ? Known to waitress). Mid afternoon while castle was busy with folk wanting drinks , food and ice creams. Very strange. Ah well I’ll spend my hundred euro dollars elsewhere!

Mon mari et moi avons opté pour le menu du jour en trois services à 16,50 euros et c'était présenté de manière élégante, et chaque plat était excellent. Le personnel était toujours aux petits soins et souriant en tout temps.

Manger en terrasse, en dessous du château de Castelnau, avec vue sur la vallée de la Dordogne, est un véritable régal ! Les pizzas et les salades composées sont excellentes et le service très sympathique.

personnel très sympathique, toujours un plaisir de profiter de la vue depuis la terrasse. le menu propose beaucoup de choix et vous pouvez prendre un repas copieux ou petit.
