Les Verdons - Réserver une table

Came here on the off chance but as it is really the end of the season it's pretty quiet now and so we had no problem getting a table at about 12.30. We both chose steak, with frites, salad and ratatouille as well as a vin chaud each. The place is attractively alpine inside, the waitress was just great and friendly and dealt patiently with my rusty French and spoke in English if necessary. Our meals were delicious and the ratatouille was probably the best I've ever had. For dessert I had the cafe gourmand with a very good allongee, plus wonderful mini chocolate brownie/fondant, a little lemon cream topped with cumble, a profiterole and a simply amazing little pistachio financier. My husband had apple tart with vanilla ice cream and salted caramel sauce. All was clearly fresh and, as i suspected, made in house by their Italian patissier (I asked! And of course the complimentary genepi at the end. It was not a cheap meal, but we feel it was worth it; we tend to opt for a nice lunch on the chalet staff night off and then have salad from Spar or a quick pizza in the evening, when village restaurants can get very busy in season. And to crown it all there was a close up table magician going around and he was really skillful!

Don't be fooled by the appearance and taken in by the location. The waiter was abrupt and didn't seem interested in getting the order correct. My daughters food was not what we order and it took 30 minutes to get it right so we had all finished before her food arrived. They charge very high prices but service frozen chips. They said it would be removed from the bill but was included twice. There are far better places to go.

We had lunch in the snack bar on the first day and did not enjoy it. It got very cold after the sun set behind a mountain at around 1:30 and the food was uninspiring. They say that Courchevel becomes more expensive, the higher you go and this was certainly true of the restaurant...but the view is fantastic

We had lunch here a few times during our ski week and we pleased with each experience. For a mountain top restaurant the food was great and wine selections was awesome. Really enjoyed the pate en croute la Mere Brazier style and the boudain noir were fantastic. Great value for Corchevel.

Super nice place, the food was good and the service too. We almost didn´t want to go back to the slopes
