we stayed in a nearby hotel in chateauroux so we could go here. it was pretty busy at 8 o'clock on Tuesday in september. we were in the posher restaurant side (it seemed only male trucker in the brasserie.) we thought we were. bring something to the market with the EUR31 menu. we had chick and foie grass starter, no problem, plus a pichet of local red (cap, but freeze) for the main course the choices were somewhat limited if they did not like tete de veau, andouillette etc. but we both went for the entrecote steak. we asked for medium (we both like it medium rare) and thought that could be right against offering a point. there was another waitress with reasonable English, but ours did not ch...
Our favourite restaurant in the area that we have visited for 20 years or so. It started as a stop for lorry drivers (who recognise quality food at a realistic price) and gained a great reputation for sourcing fresh sea food every day. There is...still a huge lorry park at the rear and separate dining area for the drivers but also a car park. The main restaurant has a large number of covers but is sub-divided and on different levels so it does not feel vast. The fish and shellfish are great, for example large prawns, crabs or plateaux de fruits de mer but also good meat dishes. They have patisserie chefs and the desserts are also of top quality. Un croisement entre un café de station-service et un restaurant. L'entrée est un peu rebutante. Niché sur le côté du bâtiment, ressemblant davantage à une entrée d'usine. Nous sommes allés du côté du restaurant qui était assez fréquenté. Le restaurant lui-même est bien éclairé, élégant et moderne. Le service était rapide. peut-être un peu trop vite, car la serveuse nous a laissé peu de temps pour étudier le menu. Les choses ont été retirées rapidement de la table, y compris la bouteille d'eau qu'elle a demandé si elle pouvait la vider dans l'un de nos verres pour pouvoir la prendre ! Le choix de plats est typiquement français, fruits de mer, poisson, les viandes étant typiquement tête de vea...
Voici une excellente routine qui a vu le jour dans un établissement plus modeste. Son succès est bien mérité car elle excelle dans ce qu'elle fait, et à un bon prix. Il y a un bar presque entièrement fréquenté par les chauffeurs routiers : mais s'ils sont satisfaits... personne ne remettra en question leur préférence. Si votre français est bon, c'est l'occasion d'en apprendre davantage sur la routine et les empreintes que vivent de nombreux chauffeurs routiers en France. À côté du bar se trouve un relais à l'ancienne, avec des menus, des plats du jour et des guides. Dans la pièce suivante, beaucoup plus grande, se trouve un restaurant avec un grand menu et une large clientèle. Les gens vienn... Réservez une table maintenant
J'ai visité cet endroit extraordinaire il y a quelques années mais je ne l'ai jamais oublié. J'ai décidé d'appeler 2 jours avant Noël pour voir si la légende était toujours la même. En effet, il y avait un flot continu de locaux essayant d'obtenir une table. Ils ont réussi à nous caser. Le service était parfait, vraiment serviable et amical, heureux de discuter et de recommander des plats du menu à moitié en français, à moitié en anglais. La nourriture était délicieuse et les portions étaient généreuses sans être trop sophistiquées. Cet endroit est unique et nous y retournerons. Hautement recommandé.
This restaurant is split in 2 parts with different ambiance and menu. The food is delicious on both sides and the service is excellent with waiters with a great service experience. The first restaurant and “brasserie” area is more used by truck and delivery drivers...with a less expensive menu. The second part which is the main restaurant is mostly visited by larger group of guests and families. They have a longer menu with higher prices. Specialized in sea food which is of very high quality and fresh and the desert list is great.
Mon père disait toujours : quand on ne sait pas quel restaurant choisir, il faut regarder le parking. Plus il y a de camions, meilleur est la nourriture ! C'est certainement vrai pour l'Èscale Village. Je suis probablement passé par là une dizaine de fois au cours des deux dernières années, et la nourriture... était toujours excellente. Bien que l'endroit soit généralement bondé, le personnel était toujours agréable et serviable. Même si toutes les tables sont prises, cela vaut vraiment la peine d'attendre !
stay in a local ibis and, want to avoid the usual chain restaurants and check travel advisers reviews, here for an early evening dinner 5.45 pm this restaurant is a rarity in france it is open all day! not only that, but it. is something for everyone on the extensive menu. rustic, home cooking best. beautiful selection of wine, house wine was very tasty, attentive service, nice bar.. have just submitted the review for the l’escale against the courtpaille accidentally. the escale is brilliant a mix of relais, bistro and restaurant in a building. eating. service and worth were all excellent. large selection on the menu plus a la carte. Just... from the autobahn so easy to find back in any case.
