L'essentiel - Réserver une table

Found this restaurant on trip advisor and chose it as my first lunch just outside the centre of Toulon. I was not disappointed. I recommend you book as I just got the last table when they opened at 12.15. I had the salmon lasagna, cooked fresh and full of salmon chunks in a delicious sauce with cheesy topping. Very generous rocket side salad with lots of various nuts. Lovely fresh bread with butter !! Had the cafe gourmand which was mouthwatering and consisted of mini melt in the mouth lemon sponge, chocolate muffin, coffee cream filled profiterole roll, very light passion fruit cheese and decorated with sliced strawberries and cream. Oh yes and of course the coffee !! Very attentive staff who spoke English to me even though I did try out my limited French. With the sea view and pebble beach I’ll definitely be going again. We had tuna and mussels. Both of us were over the moon. They both tasted fantastic and were generous portions (especially the mussels . We sat outside (covered but open at the sides and had a choice if in the sun or shade. We’re so close to the sea you could throw a pebble into it from the table. This was a bit of a windy day and one table moved inside another with a stroller just turned it to the wind. We stayed put and were very happy. Service was very good and they spoke very good English (good for me! . The dishes were about 22 26€ which for the quality was a good deal. We can highly recommend L'Essential and I think we may be returning next week.

Great place for lunch by the sea. The staff is very nice with concern on your pleasure. we tried mussels with fries. Deserts are great especially cafe gourmand . today it was served with a srawberry ' s soup The view is beautiful and the beach is just next door

A great lunch, the food was delicious! We had our 1 year old daughter and a dog with us. The staff is extremely friendly. Quick service and beautiful views of the beach! I highly recommend!!!! Will come again

Great restaurant on the beach. Sunset was an added bonus. The calamaris were excellent and so was the seafood plate.
