Before I came to Le Grand Bornand, I did a bit of research. There was one Michelin rated restaurant in the area. I was excited to eat there but, unfortunately, it was closed. I was bummed and looked at a few places around town. About...all I found were lots of the same regional specialties (many very good but I was looking for something different). I saw L'Heliantis and decided to give it a try. It was an unexpected surprise. I thought the food was great, the service was very good, and the wine was also very good, particularly for the price. The entire experience was a nice surprise and though it was not cheap, it was a good price for the quality of the meal.

Mon mari et moi étions à L'Héliantis il y a deux étés et c'était incroyable. Nous y sommes retournés à la réouverture après une longue pause il y a une semaine et ce fut une expérience exaltante! Le chef Nico nous a surpris avec un menu de 7 plats chacun. Chacun meilleur que l'autre. À la fin, il nous a offert une excellente sélection de gnôles maison magnifiques. Mon préféré est le birrr. J'attends avec impatience notre prochaine visite. Un grand merci à toute l'équipe. Ils font un travail excellent! Cet endroit est un incontournable si vous êtes dans les Alpes.
This is by far the best restaurant in the Thones valley. It is absolutely deserving of its first Michelin star. The food is entirely organic made with fresh local produce. The atmosphere is very peaceful achieving a great mix of tradition and modern decor. While...in the region, an absolute must go.

Dans ce restaurant gastronomique au Grand-Bornand, nous avons passé une soirée agréable. La nourriture était excellente, le service parfait et l'ensemble de l'environnement est magnifique. Un restaurant idéal pour un dîner romantique.
Nous avons eu un très bon repas et tout était parfait. Le service était efficace et amical. Nous avons essayé le menu avec de l'agneau et du poulet et c'était bien cuit.
one of the best meals we've ever had. All right, we came twice. at a very affordable price for a Michelin-star restaurant. an excellent chef and dessert terraces.
