We stopped in Bricquebec for an afternoon and it is a lovely town with a great market on a Monday. The restaurant is within a Norman chateau that is also a hotel and it is simply stunning with lots of history. There was a good menu to choose from with several set menu options as well as a la carte. We opted for the plat and dessert which was an amazingly good value price of just 12 Euros with coffee included. We had supreme de volaille (chicken breast cooked in a white wine sauce with broad beans) followed by Cassis Miroir (Blackcurrant Bavarois Mousse) and the meal was absolutely delicious and such good value. We also had very good coffee to complete the meal. The service was excellent and...

The hotel provides a calm, tranquil environment. The proprietors are extremely hands on' yet their presence is subtle and discreet. They speak perfect English and are consummate professionals in so far as nothing is too much trouble in respect of their guests. For example: After...a busy Sunday lunch service we were the only two people wishing for an evening meal. I suspect many establishments would have allowed us to go hungry. However, we enjoyed a lovely candlelit meal in splendid isolation in front of the fire in The Knights' Hall. Our food was delicious and the service excellent. Réservez une table maintenant

We have eaten here many times in the past and have always enjoyed good food but somehow, following a two year break, the food was a little disappointing. There was limited choice on the lower price menu making it difficult to choose three courses that went together. Starter and dessert were very good but my main dish which was rabbit was rather tough and somewhat uninspiring. Atmosphere and service were very good but it seemed clear to me that the original chef who produced wonderful food has moved on.

Old medieval type building beside very old castle. Very impressive! Our budget room was ok with bath and shower. Toilet was separate. Double bed was comfortable. Very hot during night in April and had to open window during night. Wifi good. Service very friendly. Lovely...local town.
