Great restaurant, shame it’s let down by a bad system in place for takeaway orders. It’s just turn up when your time is ready and pray you don’t have to wait for a further 30mins. Food was average, definitely not as good as it should be from such a reputable claimed place, but that’s just my personal opinion. I wouldn’t recommend it, witham has a vast number of Chinese takeaway places with decent turn around times too. Communication is key and perhaps if there was more of this here the customer service wouldn’t be so bad.

Meet with family as was central for everyone and had a good reputation, In the past it was always busy and a job to get a table, it had been 20 years since our last visit as we have moved out of the area. Would we rush back, No, not at all impressed, food was average and overpriced service was ok and the place was less than half full. Maybe a sign of the times. Must admit our local takeaway on Mersea is as good as if not slightly better. Must improve to survive.

Had heard of this place over the years, but never been and had built up a vision of somewhere I couldn't afford, where only the well off would fit in. What a total misconception that was. OMG, it's elegant decor gives off a warm and comforting feel, with the welcome, service and food all being well above what you might expect. Will certainly be returning, hopefully soon.

Attentive and friendly staff ... Clean interior although slightly dated.. attention to detail on the food presentation was brilliant .. the food itself was definitely above average . Over all a enjoyable meal that would be hard to fault .. even the bill was moderate. Réservez une table maintenant

The food was nice overall. I was slightly disappointed with the portion size given the price and also not a great deal of gluten-free choices. The staff were friendly and the food we did order was good.

Consistently excellent decade after decade. I used to eat there in my early 20s and re-visiting at 57 did not disappoint. Excellent food, excellent wine and excellent service. 10/10

Excellent...Outstanding..Amazing food!! A must go to Chinese. This was our 2nd visit.. even better than our 1st which took some beating. Thank you.. look forward to seeing you soon

Visited for a family get together, as it was my birthday. I love the quality of the food, so did the family that hadn't been in before. Excellent service. Réservez une table maintenant

Absolutely delicious food. Really tasty and well presented. The only fault is that they seem to scrimp on the portions for set meals for large parties.
