Liep's Cambodian Restaurant

This restaurant is a firm favourite of ours, and we have been here many times over many years. Liep and his wife Kim are a fabulous team, very friendly, humble and welcoming. The food is traditional, homestyle Khmer cooking, with some beautiful favourites like beef lok lak, Cambodian sausage (which Liep makes himself), fish amok, lemongrass chicken, tamarind beef. The barbecued eggplant and chicken is superb and probably our favourite dish! The food is all beautifully fresh, lovingly prepared and very reasonably priced. My partner and I enjoyed this discovery.which is set in a simple venue in the main eating square on Military Road at Cremorne. The maitre de and owner is a Cambodian man who is very charming and hospitable and makes the recommendations of the day although there are other item menus also. The owner shares the cooking with a woman we assumed to be his wife.The atmosphere is a little more like eating in a friend's home that in a restaurant. The food - we had super fresh rice rolls, a tasty chicken curry and a fish dish cooked in banana leaves, was very tasty. This place certainly is homely and good value - we will be back.

My partner loves Cambodia and so we found this little restaurant to go to after a quick google search.We ordered the Fish Curry and the chef recommended chicken and eggplant dish.Hands down, the Fish Curry was the best Curry I have ever had. My partner literally said 'that is absolutely delightful!' - and he was so right. It was so fragrant and smooth and the fish was perfectly cooked. I couldn't rate it high enough and we will definitely be going back to have the Curry again. The chef was so friendly and lovely and the dining experience was overall really great.

We all thoroughly enjoyed our pre-cinema meal at Lieps. It is a small and humble place with very fresh and extremely tasty food. We had Nem rolls for entree, beef curry & vegetables, prawns with spicy sauce & vegetables and a wonderful special dish of chicken and barbecued eggplant - delightful. Then there was the home made chocolate soufflé dessert. Every dish was delivered very efficiently. The meal that was more than enough for 3 hungry people was a total of $81! I have now been visited Liep's 3 or 4 times and I always feel very welcome and I believe this is by Lieps himself. They serve really great, fresh and home cooked dinners. It takes a little while but they are only 2 or 3 serving or cooking for you so it is worth the wait. If you are in Cremorne go for an authentic and down to earth dinner at Liep's. And it is BYO so the dinner becomes really overall affordable but the food is 5*!!

We have eaten here for years but it's time to share. This is a Cambodian restaurant that serves traditional fare along with the best fish and chips in the whole of the North Shore. We get between us grilled and battered snapper with chips. This is not greasy, the batter is crispy and served with a large salad and chips. Please try you won't be disappointed.

This place is cheap and cheerful but most of all Liep is the nicest host in the world.He is such a lovely man and always makes people feel very welcome, another bonus is the food he serves....delicious!!We found this little gem by accident and recommend it to all of our friends.2 words....crispy prawns!

We loved this tiny Cambodian cafe. The food was really great and very reasonably priced. The chef/waiter was such a lovely man with a great sense of humour. This is well worth a visit. You won't be disappointed.

Another delicious Cambodian meal at Liep's. We chose his 2 specials - fish wrapped in banana leaf and chicken and eggplant mince. Both were delicious.
