Edit: Ordered a togo salad. Waited 30-40 mins then asked about it. Someone went and found the slip on the counter and handed it to a young woman. When the salad came out, it had to be remade bc I had ordered it w/o blk beans. I was polite and patient w staff. I heard a young man say to her to make it hot, very hot, but had no idea he was talking about my order. (Pro tip, don't assume no one else understands another language. This is Boston. Mosquito/fruit FLIES are common and STALKS not broccoli – Yes. Maybe they should change the menu to read broccoli stalks because if you order any salad or bowl that has broccoli on it that 's what you 'll get served. A couple of days ago, my friend and I had lunch at this restaurant. We ordered a bowl of shiitake udon and a shiitake wrap. Unfortunately, the soup for the udon tasted terribly bland, reminiscent of cardboard that had been soaked in rainwater for too long. Even that might have had more flavor from the acidity in the air. The udon noodles were overly chewy and lacked any absorption of the insipid, cardboard-like broth. My friend, who is a person of great integrity and dislikes wasting food, had a complete change of heart after his first bite of the shiitake wrap. Had yet another great meal at Life Alive (Brookline). The service has always been good, but Mo took it to another level for our family. There was a small mistake with my wrap and even though he was clearly quite busy, Mo personally saw to it that my sandwich be fixed in a jiffy all with warmth and a sincere wish that we have a good experience. The space is huge, bright, thoughtfully designed and decorated. Attention to detail is everywhere, from the ceramic ware to the top quality ingredients. We will return again and again. I enjoy Life Alive at other locations, but this branch has the most inconsistent service. This is my second time visiting, and my order was completely off from the recipe. My Blue Ocean Latte was not good at all! They really need to train their staff to stick to the recipes.
