L'imperial - Réserver une table

After the positive reviews, L'Imperial came as a huge disappointment. Anyone who thinks its food is superb or authentic has clearly never eaten great Asian food. Apart from the spring rolls, which were quite good, it was pretty poor. The chicken satay was awful and its attempt at a Thai beef salad was a disgrace. It would have the Thais in open revolt. And please, give the sweet chilli sauce a rest. It is no substitute for the dipping sauces that are such a feature of classic Thai and Vietnamese food. A final suggestion: Pick one cuisine and do it well. Trying to do three Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese from the one kitchen is a surefire way of doing none well. And so it was. Not recommended unless everywhere else in Mirepoix is shut.

Sometimes you just want to eat a Chinese meal and if this is the case and you are in or near Mirepoix do visit the L'Imperial. We had a very warm welcome .... smiles and happy to greet and seat us. Good menu, lovely food and very good service. Really enjoyable evening and would definitely visit again. They also had a brisk take away service which would indicate the locals like to go there.

The restaurant changed hands in June, and is no longer quite the same quality. I always enjoyed coming here, but now prefer la Louna, round the corner. The new owner tries hard, but fusses unnecessarily, and the little extras you used to get before and after the meal have disappeared.

Who would have thought you'd find a great little place like this in South France. Congratulations to the owners who appear to do it all themselves and manage even when it gets busy, and it does.

This place never lets you down. You always get a friendly welcome and the food is superb. There is a takeaway service as well if you wish to eat elsewhere.
