We ordered: Vegetarian Spring Rolls: uncooked, with raw, pasty coating. Virtually inedible.Chicken with Cashew Nuts: utterly flavourless, with almost no chicken in it.BBQ Spare Ribs: average, but again no real flavourFried Pork Sweet and Sour: the best dish we'd ordered, but only decent, not great. The sauce had nice pieces of pineapple in it, but again quite bland.Overall, we were disappointed our dinner wasn't nearly the standard of most of the other reviewers (new cooks, bad night, who knows...but we won't try it again). For around $70, it was a waste of money. McDonalds would have been better, and cheaper.
This is our local Chinese staple. Frank and Gwen have had this place for years and they serve up good food and make your night (or lunch) a fun occasion. If you are celebrating, let Frank know and he will find the appropriate song on the music machine so the whole restaurant can join your table in singing "happy birthday" or "happy anniversary" or "happy whatever". The staff are great to, almost all Chinese so you really feel like you are in Shanghai or Hong Kong. Try it, you won't be sorry.
We have been coming to this restaurant for a number of years. You usually need a booking for a Saturday night as it gets full. We had a banquet for 4. The service is excellent and there is more than enough food in all the courses served. The manager and owner, Frank is a very friendly guy who like to crack a joke and make all the guests feel welcome. We had no complaints about the food and will b back again.
