One thing that struck me and others immediately upon entering was that the air conditioning seemed either broken or set to a high temperature of 77 degrees, making the space uncomfortably warm. I almost left because of it, but decided to stay. Upon entering, I was greeted, given a paper menu, and invited to choose my seating. I was instructed to return to the counter to place my order, so there was no traditional table-side service. When I returned to the counter, I ordered their house Sangria and was asked if I wanted a 'full carafe' or a 'half carafe.' I visited Lista's for the first time this past Friday night, and it will definitely be my last. Upon entering, we weren’t informed that all their food was served takeout-style; we only discovered this when our food arrived at the table with plastic utensils. I ordered a margarita which was served in an insulated travel cup, and my chicken quesadilla came in a cardboard container. We also ordered a burrito and iced tea, but the appetizer never made it to our table. The food was lukewarm, and there were no sides provided. However, we went there tonight at 6 PM on a Saturday, and I regret to say that the mojito served in a plastic bag—which took a moment to open—tasted more like a stick of spearmint gum than a refreshing cocktail. The food was just okay and not worth mentioning specifically. To make matters worse, it was served with plastic utensils in a to-go container. Food was okay....Atmosphere was a complete disappointment. They take you to your table and give you paper menus. Once you make your food decision, you go up to the counter to place your order. If you order an appetizer, be aware that all your food comes out at one time, IN CARTONS! You get plastic utensils, bottled drinks, it was a disaster! No one ever came back to our table to ask if we needed anything else. If I wanted carryout, I would've gone to Taco Bell.Lista's used to be one of my favorite restaurants...NO LONGER! It's disheartening to see negative reviews from individuals who lash out at the staff because they expect the same experience as before. Times are tough right now, and this is no excuse for being rude to those who work hard to provide us with tasty food and a cheerful atmosphere. If you can't treat people in the service industry with respect, it's better to just stay home. A huge thank you to Lista’s for your continued excellence during these challenging times! The owners are truly the best in town—extremely friendly and always willing to help. I really like what they've done with the space; it's casual yet has a flair for fantastic food. The chef, Rueben, really knows how to make the flavors stand out. Cathy is always working to keep everyone happy, which gives the restaurant a warm, homey atmosphere.
