Ordered Little Alley for take out and it was the perfect meal to go. The food itself was great and had a lot of authentic Shanghainese dishes on the menu. Didn’t get to try all of them but loved their 糟溜鱼片 and the kaofu! The staff were incredible kind and packed up the to-go order very well. The only downside is that it is a on the expensive side. Overall, I really enjoyed this place and will be taking my Shanghainese family here to try some other dishes, especially bc the atmosphere looked great at the restaurant too!

We were craving for Shanghai cuisine. After having Lao Yu Yuan in Flushing, we visited Little Alley in Murray Hill, Manhattan. They named their cocktails based on Jay Chou‘s songs. We had “Adorable Women” and “Wife”. Both were refreshing and tasty with pretty looks.Little Alley Lion's Head is decent, the meat was firm and the salted duck egg was flavorful. We had their Yanduxian which is signature soup among Shanghai cuisines. The soup broth was flavorful with various ingredients.

Food here is hit and miss. We liked the soup dumplings, the red chicken with ginger, and eggplant. Less success was the duck (lots of bones) and not at all successful was the tofu with crab. There is a nice selection of cocktails and some good beers on tap. Service is quick and efficient.

My go-to place for reasonably priced and delicious chinese food in Midtown area. My favorite is the salted duck egg fish fillet. Other good dishes are egg tofu with seafood, crispy eel, and yan du xian. The crispy duck and west lake stew are a little disappointed.Food: 5/5
