Little Em's Oyster

While I understand that mistakes can happen, the level of service is often reflected in how courteous staff are. I drove 35 minutes to try this place only to be turned away. I expressed to the host that this was our first visit and we were excited, hoping it wouldn’t be our last, but she seemed indifferent. Even the bartender blamed OpenTable for the mix-up regarding bar versus regular table seating, which felt unfairly directed at me. Since they wouldn't allow us to sit at a proper table inside, we decided to go somewhere else, and honestly, that turned out to be a blessing because we didn’t feel welcome or valued at all. I love Little Em's. I love the food, the quality of food and the space. My only complaint was the fans. The indoor fans were running very high to the point of discomfort. Air was blowing in my face during the meal. I asked if it was possible to lower the fans but the server said there wasn't an option to lower or turn them off. The service and food were impeccable as always. I just wish I felt a little more comfortable eating and taking my time. I skipped dessert more so because I was very cold and didn't want to sit under the fast running fans anymore. Of course I'll be back because of the food and maybe ask for a different seat if I see the fans running

Super cute restaurant and friendly wait staff .. we were introduced to a new wine varietal “Gavi” that we enjoyed. We shared the beet salad which was very good. My dinner date had the shrimp linguine, I had the cioppino .. we would have enjoyed the entrees if they weren’t so overly spicy. It’s hard to enjoy the delicate flavors of the seafood when your mouth is burning.. thus just 3 stars for the food.

The food was bland and resembled typical bar fare. However, the mojitos were excellent, and the hibachi-style spicy shrimp certainly lived up to their name. Unfortunately, the Cajun chicken sandwich, roasted vegetables, and steamed broccoli were below expectations. On a positive note, the side house salad and Caesar salad were quite enjoyable. A very charming restaurant set in the middle of a San Antonio residential atea where you can enjoy fresh oysters on the half shell. A good drink menu to match. Although the menu items are limited, they are done very well. Filet, Shrimp linguini and lobster rolls top the favorite list.

Went for restaurant week and this place did not disappoint. Cute spot with good ambience and delicious food. Only drawback is the size of the venue and limited indoor seating so plan ahead and make a reservation during peak times. Overall 5 out of 5 dinning/social experience ?

Amazing oyster bar that has the best burger in San Antonio! We start with an oyster appetizer and share a burger all with sparkling rose. Sit on patio. A must go when in San Antonio.
