This is my favorite spot whenever I'm craving Hawaiian food, and I'm willing to make the extra 15-20 minute drive to get there. For some reason, this location offers more options, the food tastes better, and it doesn't upset our stomachs. The staff here greet you with a genuine "Aloha," unlike other places where the staff just says "Welcome" because they have to.
Our usual orders include loco moco, fried shrimp, chicken katsu, manapua, and musubi. Depending on the weather or how I feel, I sometimes opt for saimin or a BBQ beef sandwich with fries. I don't typically leave reviews, but I have to share how incredible the half plate with chicken katsu and BBQ beef was. Adding the mac salad was a perfect touch—what more could you ask for? I'm really glad I got to try this before heading back to the East Coast!
There are many Hawaiian bbq branches in the Bay Area, but this one stands out the most. Excellent service, clean bathroom. Nicely mixed macaroni salad, and crispy yet tender chicken katsu. Good portion for the price. A must try if you are in the area.
Gross! The fish has an extremely strong fishy taste! It's awful. The fried shrimp were decent, though. Perhaps their other dishes are better, but I definitely wouldn't recommend the fish.
