L'O-Berge - Réserver une table

We opted for an early lunch (12:30ish) on our way to a Lascaux cave. Actually, we were the first one to sit, but the resto filled in rather quickly. We had a lovely table by the river and enjoyed a lot the view. In terms of food, it is a rather simple cuisine. We had confit canard and Périgord burger (with foie gras). The duck was fine, but there was very few vegies for the side. The burger was OK, there were very nice mushrooms - nice discovery! However, the cooking of the beef was a disappointment:( It was extremely well done, which is the triple shame narrowing with a crime against the meat. Actually, I even asked specifically about the cooking of the meat when we were not asked during ordering and I was promised medium.....I quote "our chef knows the best how to cook the dish." well I would certainly advise not to kill it like that. The dessert was a nice tarte citrone with a good acidity kick and thin pastry. On a bemole side, it seem to stay in a fridge rather long before being served as the pastry was not as crisp as it should be. The service was attentive and friendly. We had plenty of cold water on a hot day without even asking for it! Overall a good lunch.

We were looking for somewhere for lunch after wandering around Montignac and were glad we decided on L'O-Berge. A lovely location and very friendly waiter, who took the time to chat with us and explain the dishes in detail. The food was excellent and service superb. We would definitely return.

Nothing special - service just ok - nice view of the Vezere River - thats about it - don't take cards either - had to go to a cash point.

Nothing very special, the food wasn't outstanding. The service was quite slow and the staff doesn't speak English.
