Locals is located next door to the Old House hotel. Located near the mouth of the Puntledge River, this heritage building provides a warm and intimate atmosphere. Finding Locals was a very accidental, but pleasant discovery when we were staying in Courtney. The indoor dining room was fully booked on a Friday evening but there was plenty of room on the inviting large, scenic patio surrounded by a beautiful garden and walking path. The service was fantastic. After being seated, within a couple of minutes, we had a pleasant server who brought water and took our drink order and delivered it within minutes. I give this place full props for buying and supporting local farms and businesses that supply the ingredients. Great Ambience, Service and Location.. Extensive Wine Menu.. Wanted to start with something small and go from there to see what I liked or didn 't like... Came here because the searched mentioned 'brunch ' but came to find out that they only serve brunch on Saturday and Sunday.... Started with the Fish Chowder and an order or Artisan Bread and Butter.. Yes there was a TON of fish in that small cup but the soup literally tasted like someone threw some fish in a pan and added Half n Half and loads of sugar... The soup was SWEET as in Ice Cream sweet... didn 't know that was normal and...

we ate at locals tonight. that is surrounded by a garden with many lights and pampas plants. the restaurant itself is a very old building, beautiful from every angle. we had the manila clams, pacific rim seafood pasta, chorizo crusted sable food and raclette cheese apple salad. the presentation was fantastic and the ingredients in each dish were fresh and delicious. we also liked her sourded. Unfortunately there were only 2 discs for us three. it was $4 when we asked for more. the service was good, a beautiful restaurant, but the price was on the high side.

The food was fantastic, and the atmosphere was delightful. We began with a pre-appetizer sample, which was excellent and paired perfectly with the house white wine. For the appetizer, we had artisan bread and oysters, and the accompanying sauce was amazing. For the main course, I chose the beef tenderloin, served with potatoes, beautifully arranged leeks, and a delicious blue cheese topping. The dish was enhanced by a remarkable red onion and blue cheese marmalade, all finished off with a rich demi-glace. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit! Réservez une table maintenant

An exquisite experience! Walking through a delightful garden area complete with sweet bunnies; entering into the charming interior exuding warmth, this will be a favorite for every occasion. The Jumbo Prawns Scallop Thai Curry are beyond words!Perfectly cooked, scrumptiousness in every bite. Impeccable service and added delights as we were served a smoked salmon canape'and a decadent chocolate truffle. Welcome surprises to a stellar evening. This is one of the the best restaurants we've visited in the last couple of years. Our selection includes Seared Scallops Pork Belly, Miriam's Vegetarian Cakes, and Chorizo Crusted Sablefish. We really like the use of squash and black bean purées. The service was excellent. We did not sit in the garden as it was a bit cold, but we had a view of the garden. If this was in Vancouver, if would have been booked weeks in advance and I would visit regularly for the Miriam's Vegetarian Cakes.

Just had lunch which was very good this was second visit. The food is consistent quality and the portions are very good and the food is served nice and hot. I had chowder soup and seafood crepes and my wife had the hamburger. She really loved the hamburger I found the seafood over cooked and it was a bit chewy but was very delicious. The restaurant is very comfortable and inviting inside and the wait staff are very nice and friendly which makes an enjoyable experience.

Amazingly fresh and flavourful seafood dishes! The interior is beautiful and servers were super kind they even provided us with a complimentary small appetizer and truffles for dessert. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a great dinner to treat yourself! Réservez une table maintenant

The food here is well-prepared, and the service is excellent, all in a beautiful setting. The patio garden provides a delightful dining atmosphere. We enjoyed the mussels and seafood chowder, both of which were delicious!

Dinner was amazing. I had the seafood trio and everything had different flavors, it was delicious. My favorite thing in the plate was the tuna, it melted in your mouth.
