Ich war am 6.12.2015 im Adler in der alten Post im Rahmen einer Geburtstagsfeier essen. Gleich am Anfang gab es hausgemachten Gänseschmalz mit Weißbrot, der Schmalz war sehr gut abgeschmeckt. Das Amuse-Gueule bestand aus einer Fischpastete mit etwas Lachs und eine Creme, auch nicht selbstverständlich, daher um so mehr Freude. Als Vorspeise hatte ich eine Rieslingsüppchen mit Lachs, dann als Hauptspeise gebratene Gänsekeule mit Rotkohl und Knödel und als Nachtisch eine Variation von Griesnockeln mit Nougat und einem Wallnuss-Eis. Ich muss sagen, dass ich schon lange nicht mehr so gut gegessen habe. Die Vorspeise war geschmacklich sehr fein und die Gänsekeule super knusprig und zugleich zart....
On December 6th, 2015 I had dinner at the Adler in the old post office as part of a birthday party. Right at the beginning there was homemade goose fat with white bread, the lard was very tasty. The amuse-gueule consisted of a fish pie with some salmon and a cream, which was also not a given, which made it all the more enjoyable. As a starter I had a Riesling soup with salmon, then as a main course I had fried goose leg with red cabbage and dumplings and as dessert a variation of semolina dumplings with nougat and walnut ice cream. Als Geschäftsführer von Mühlfeld Immobilien in Weinheim nehme ich monatlich am Jungunternehmertreffen der Stadt Weinheim teil. Auch Philipp Kögel stellte sich beim letzten Treffen vor und berichtete vom Umzug seines Gasthauses „Adler“ von Mannheim-Feudenheim nach Weinheim in die Alte Postgasse 53. Das machte mich natürlich neugierig, sodass wir dann gestern dort Essen waren. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen: Toller Service, leckere und frische Küche und ein gemütliches Ambiente. Eine wahrliche Alternative zu den vielen Restaurants am Marktplatz. Wir kommen wieder!
