We wandered through Morella, on a cold Wednesday in March looking at restaurants and tapas bars for a reasonably priced lunch; many offered menus around 12 Euros. Lola displayed a good menu with the bonus of English translations (not always a good translation mind you). From street level the entry door leads in to go either down to the bar and kitchen, or up to two levels with tables (I think access would not be good in a wheelchair). The tables were clean and the chairs comfortable, with simple, modern decor and an interesting series of vaulted arches for the ceiling. The menu at 12 Euros gives a first course, which is quite filling, a second course, not quite as large, a simple sweet, plus bread and drink; coffee is extra. Our starters were warm tuna mozzarella and white asparagus with mayonnaise, both tasty and generous servings. Second courses were lasagne and slowly cooked lamb in a pastry parcel. Both were good quality and clearly made by someone who is good with flavours. For sweet we both had panna cotta, again of good quality The waiter was good, helpful and able to explain dishes in English. It was a quiet day, midweek and we did not have any delays. If we are in this area again we would go back and have no hesitation recommending it to others visitors.
