"We had dinner on the terrace on a warm Saturday evening. Although there is one menu with a few options the food was good. The service was relaxed and not rushed, which is what you needed. We had the veal for a main which was well cooked and tasteful. The deconstructed deserts were good too."

'My husband recently stayed at the hotel and ate at the restaurant. His experience- and ultimately our experience- is eye-watering, so do read on! Its written by him. I arrived at the hotel with my good friend Simon. We had been traveling for 15 hours by road, ferry and road again (from the UK) and were SO looking forward to the gastronomique experience before a good nights sleep and heading on to our final destination in the South. We were showed to our table by the charming receptionist and we waited for a waiter. And we waited, and we waited and then finally I caught one and asked for the wine list. Nothing arrived. We were looking forward to our dinner here after a long driving journey. Unfortunately the restaurant was packed and there were two events going on at the same time (wedding and birthday). We stayed at the table for, literally, 2 hours and 20 minutes with our 3 kids until we finished. Anything we asked for was too slow, even a bottle of water took them 20 min to be served....not a good experience. The food was decent but not enough to compensate the bad experience after all...as a dessert, the crepes for the kids were cold, and the bill didn’t help either!.

Found this hotel in Relais du Silence, a lovely setting with ponds and ducks and this provided an enjoyable stroll before dinner. Superb turbot with equally impressive accompaniments, and an excellent coffee soufflé. I think our room's blue bathroom suite must have been from when the farm was first converted into a hotel! The restaurant was lacking in atmosphere, possibly too bright, but the staff were very professional, if a trifle pompous!

The scenery and surroundings are typical from the Sologne area. The menu is very original. Food is well presented. Our American friends were a bit intimidated by the uniqueness of some dishes on the menu which made it difficult for them to chose. Deserts are very unique too and worth saving room... Overall one of the most expensive restaurant in the area more for special occasions.
