If you are visiting Starkville to tour Mississippi State University, I highly recommend stopping by this pizzeria with your family. Not only does the menu cater to the picky eaters, it also has options for those who are vegetarian, meat-lovers, and so much more! The decor is a plus since social media is so prevalent these days. This place is a nice deli style pizzeria. The atmosphere is nice, cozy, kinda laid back. The artsy decor inside and the music will take you back in time. We ordered 6 pcs wing Jamaican Jack) which was very crispy and good. And for the main course we went for ‘The Otis’ pizza. The medium size is quite a big in portion size for two persons). So I will not complain about the money I paid. This is probably the best pizza in town well, I definitely have eaten better pizza compared to this, but not in Starkville though). We took the thick crusted one, so it was quite rich and heavy! Loaded with a tons of different meats and cheese. I would definitely recommend the place.
Food: Ordered The Popeye con bacon. Indie size on a thick crust. Easy to tell how quality thw ingredients are. The alfredo sauce was superb in its consistency of thickness. Not too thick nor runny. The medium size diced onions added much flavor. The bacon was cut in real bacon bit sizes and not burnt at all. Spinach appeared fresh and not withered by the heat. Environment: Great interior decor and very clean dining area. Customer Service: Friendly server and very conversing.
Pizza is expensive.. Wings and Pizza were Cold!! The meat on the big pizza doesn't seem to be COOKED with the pizza.. if that makes sense! We dined in but.. I took my pizza home to cooked it some more.. Service was Okay.. We ordered a lot but.. they weren't willing to help us out any.. Like a pitcher of drink like they do BEER ... Only because.. We had a lot of kids.. and I didn't want them running back and forth to the drink fountain.. Atmosphere is GOOD.. They have TVS! Réservez une table maintenant
This restaurant has definitely declined since it first opened when I was in college at Mississippi State. The wings have a strange bready texture that I didn't care for, and the portion sizes for the pasta dishes are huge. A single order of chicken alfredo could easily feed 3-4 people. There was so much pasta that it was almost overwhelming. The pizza is alright, but for really good pizza, I recommend trying Dave's Darkhorse Tavern. They have the best pizza in town.
I am not a fan of pizza, so I may not be the most credible reviewer. Their lunch special is a good value for those who enjoy pizza. However, I found their salads to be unexciting. The tamales were dry and gave me heartburn, which is unusual for me. I don't think I will be trying more dishes at this restaurant. The atmosphere is great and the restaurant is clean, but it's not my top choice.
I came all the way from Horn Lake to visit family and tried this restaurant for the first time. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was outstanding. The waiter who took our order provided excellent recommendations. I will definitely be returning on my next visit. I love the food and the people here.
