Read the reviews, L'Osteria was in the next street so we booked for 8.30. Menu is a set 3 course after 8pm, we had two courses each which were very nice and declined the desserts. The bill had 1 set meal at 21 Euros and a starter at 11 Euros and a main at 16Euros, we queried the reason why and was told that we had arrived before 8pm and therefore the a la cart prices were applied. This made no sense at all as we had been charged for a set meal on the same bill. The bill was taken away and amended without any apology at all, once it was amended to 62 Euros we left a tip of 8 Euros, don't know why really apart from 'that's what we do' given the fact that the beer I ordered didn't arrive and the wine we chose was replaced by the house white without an explanation. All of this was ordered and queried in French, no language barrier to wonder about. Disappointing after reading so many good reviews. Oh, one last thing the card machine wasn't working!!!
Typical 3 course corse menus in 2 price levels, packed restaurant. Good selection on the menu, good food. I didnt like that the french couple next to us got their coffee before us even though they ordered later and ours was not forgotten. I was more annoyed that the credit card machine didnt work for us (the same for a dutch couple before) with an excuse that this must be a problem of the foreign bank.10 min later I paid the parking fee of 3 Euro by credit card at the machine without a problem.
Nice restaurant in the center of Ile Rousse.No towel, cutlery left on the table after each dish.Menus at 21 and 37 euros.We took the 21 menu and food was just acceptable. Probably the best dishes are on the other menu. Very smart idea: it looks like a cheap restaurant for travel guides, but the best dishes are on the expensive side of the menu. Bad value for money overall.
The 3 course menu of 21 euro was good. Had a nice meat plate as a starter, and the dorado fish main was succulent. The a la carte pasta with gambas was basic (for 26 euro) but very tasty! The crème brulee dessert was a bit lumpy, but maybe that's the Corsican way. Waitress was very friendly.
