Lou Cantou - Réserver une table

This place is a prime example of what happens when you have a captive market. There is little local evening competition at Bonascre, as such the morose and downright ignorant staff (owner included) feel no need to raise even the slightest smile or offer even a crumb of customer service to their clientele. A Gallic grunt is about as good as it gets I'm afraid. Truly, they are the most miserable and depressing people I have had the misfortune to share a room with. If life is really so miserable then do us all a favour and quietly fall off a cliff. It's a pity really because if you are prepared to wait quite a long time, the food can be quite good! Will I return? Not a chance as long as I've got a hole in my a*se.

After a day of skiing popped in here to grab some food. Was told by staff that kitchen was closed. Shortly after more French customers arrived and were shown menus and served food. They should state clearly at the entrance and before they take a drinks order that UK customers are not welcome.

We have been to Ax 3 times, but only ate in here for the first time this year. We were greeted and a table found quickly. We were not so keen to eat a large meal and so opted for crepes and soup. It was very cosy and had a nice feeling about it, being in a log cabin with a huge wood burner.

After a day of skiing, Lou Cantou is the place to relax and have fun and have a very nice lunch or dinner, with very friendly staff. Also in the summertime we're welcome for a fresh beer or a very nice lunch.

We ate lunch at three of the bars at the bottom of the ski runs at this was easily the best. Really good spaghetti carbonara
