I have been to Bitburg approximately times since and I always make it a point to dine at Restaurant Louis Mueller. It is located in the Pedestrian Zone, close to the old Bitburger Brewery. I usually eat in the bar area. My favorite...dish there is called Oma Kathe's Art and is a schnitzel style dish (maybe a bit thicker than a normal schnitzel) smothered with onions, mushrooms and bacon. That's right...BACON. Stopped here on a trip last month (Jan and chose this hotel for its position in the town, and I am glad I did. Arrived mid-afternoon to a warm welcome from Melisa who took me up to show us our room, and then a...short walk to explain where the free car parking was. A plain but pleasant room on the second floor overlooking the pedestrian only street so no road noise. The only real sounds were the pleasant chimes of the glockenspiel clock just along the road. We came here for an early dinner after a stop at nearby Spangdahlem Air Base. The location is great, centrally located on the main pedestrian street. The server was very friendly, smiley, and helpful. Food was great salads were fresh with excellent dressing, gulasch...soup was excellent, schnitzel was cooked perfectly. And the man at the bar takes great care in serving up the perfect glass of beer! A very pleasant German experience at the usual relaxed European pace.

After several trips to Louis Mueller during the past two years, it is obviously a place that keeps me coming back. Of course, the house beer is Bitburger, which is pretty hard to beat. The menu is interesting with typical German fare, but very well...prepared. The service is very good, but it can be a little slow if you are there during dinner hours. Whenever I'm in Bitburg, this is one of my go to places.

A real German restaurant; seems dark from the outside but cozy inside. Very nice staff and good price. The food is very tastefull.
