I used to visit this place regularly when it was number 1 in Sandy but haven't been for a while. My wife is not very keen on spicy food so frequently I visit restaurants solo and what is it that restaurants seem to have about people eating alone even at quiet times? A few months ago I entered on a Sunday lunchtime after 1pm and was told it was not yet open despite it being advertised as such. Today I went for the Sunday buffet. I was not offered any poppadums despite knowing that they are extras. The food was OK but not spicy enough for my liking. THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED ITS NAME TO 'IVORY LOUNGE ' Perfect (or nearly). I left the choice of dishes to my waiter. Preparation, presentation, cooking, flavours and appearance were all perfect. I had Garlic King Prawns and Hyderabadi Chicken with Aloo Gobi and Onion Garlic Rice. With a pint of lager and spicy popadom with chutney tray to start, the total bill was £36.45. I ate exactly half, so will have the remainder at home tomorrow. Service was discreet, helpful and friendly. There was only one negative: I wanted to end the meal with some Kulfi, but not only was there no Kulfi, but there weas no dessert of any sort.
We are new to the area so we thought we would try out the local Indian takeaways. I’m sorry to say I was very disappointed with the food. My husband collected it , as we often find delivered food is cold, and it was ready quickly. It was hot when it arrived. Unfortunately my chicken tikka was very red, which would suggest too much food colouring and very very sweet. We shared a pashwari naan which I know is a bit sweet but it was really sickly sweet. I have a sweet tooth but this was something else. We won’t be ordering from this restaurant again.
Have dined in several times before and have had 2 takeaways from here and always been a pleasure. Had a takeaway this evening and although it was late was definitely worth the wait (only 15 minutes). We ordered starters, mains, vegetable side dishes and naan bread plus poppadoms and all tasted wonderful. The quantity of food is really good and you definitely get your money’s worth. When ordering on just eat we got 10% off our order as it was over £25 so extra bonus there. Would definitely order and dine in here again

Ordered takeaway and the food was piping hot and fresh. It had just the right level of spice. I ordered the meal deal which is good value. The naan bread wasn’t cooked thoroughly it was still a bit doughy. I would order from here again. The reason for the 3 star review was the delivery was 30 mins late. No call from them to let us know it was running late. It was a Saturday night so they were probably very busy but a courtesy call would have been nice.
Saved the best til last. We tried every single Indian restaurant since we moved here and definitely the best. Excellent Jalfrezi, spicy but very flavourful, lovely Madras with just the right amount of spice, Rogan Josh was sublime. We also had bindi Bhaji, fresh and moist, tarka dhal was a melt in the mouth experience, Bagian (aubergine) absolutely lovely. Definitely worth a proper sit down visit when it all reopens. Well done!!
This is our second visit to this restaurant, even though we live about 30 minutes away it is certainly worth the journey. The food is really delicious, everything tasted really fresh and was piping ho,t not one of us had a bad word to say about the meal. The decor is lovely, very clean and tidy and we found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. Will definitely be going back again.
I ordered my take away from here by mistake unfortunately it was a mistake. The onion bajis were burnt cold, the rice meals were ok but lacked any taste what so ever the salad was hot? I am very disappointed indeed wouldn’t make this mistake again.

Just average, I have had better meals really dispointed with the stale pompdoms!! Cooked yesterday or very early in the day.
Great food however unfortunately the delivery driver was rude on arrival. Won’t order delivery again. Shame
