I guess we were lucky, arriving in Boise on a snowy night, because we walked right into Luciano's at 6:30 and were seated immediately and promptly served perfect focaccia with oil and balsamic. I'm a sucker for stuffed mushrooms and the appetizer we shared was spot on, mildly spicy. The half portion of the house salad was beautifully presented, light and delicious. The salmon served on a cream sauced Ravioli was cooked to a delicious moist flakiness with a slightly crispy, wonderfully seasoned top. The veal piccata served on fettuccine was delicious as well. It was a shame we had no room for desert, even after boxing our remaining entree's, because the bread pudding special sounded so enticing. The ambiance was comforting and the wait staff this snowy evening was relaxed and delightful, particularly Kat, our server. This was our first visit to Luciano's but surely won't be our last.
I was here several years ago before I was using Yelp. A nicely decorated Italian restaurant with a good amount of seating. They bring a slab of bread to enjoy with oil and balsamic vinegar. I ordered the linguini with clam sauce and the squeeze got the manicotti. My pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce excellent. She was very happy with the manicotti. These are the lunch size dishes, plenty of food. Mine came with extra bread as well. The service is very good and Katie did a great job. This is a great place for a quiet lunch or dinner.
Food was delicious. Wait was pretty long even with a call ahead and they never gave us a time estimate. Make sure to get here early. The server was nice and gave good recommendations. It's a cute small Italian restaurant. Only think we didn't like was the tiramisu. Felt like it had too much coco powder and tasted chalky. Maybe try it in the restaurant instead. We'll definitely be back for more!
From the outside of the building, this restaurant does not look like it will impress. However, setting aside the building exterior, you will be treated with outstanding Italian cibo (food) and friendly and attentive staff. Move past the front door and enjoy! Mangiamo!
