Lucile's Steaks Spirits In The Continental

Beautiful restored restaurant in an old hotel overlooking the typical small town square with a beautiful stone house in the middle. Looks like a scene from a movie in Central America. Food was very good, cheap. We came at 2:00 before the dining room was opened. But the service was very good in the front bar/lobby area. And we had a front seat overlooking the coming and going at the Continental Hotel and the city square. We will definitely return on our next trip through this part of Iowa.

I traveled thru Centerville looking for an NICE lunch place. Because of my nutritional restrictions and that I was too early for a steak, I settled on a salad. Meh... but I will definitely come back when I'm back in town and the grill is fired.

Just stumbled upon this place when we stopped in town. A local told us this was the best place in town to eat. Great food in an historical hotel. Dad said probably the best tenderloin he has ever eaten!

We sat fast. Beverage order was quickly accepted as well as food order. Everything came out on request. Great ambience. Would definitely recommend date lunch, date night place!

Great place to eat. Unbelievable employees. The food was immediately hot on the table.
