The atmosphere inside this restaurant is really cosy and inviting. The four is very good, with only a couple of small comments to make.... main course was perfect, dessert was very good, but the appetisers were "interesting"... 1 appetiser for example was: Burrata with Tomato Sugo". The burrata was excellent, but the tomato sugo was way, way too much. It was extremely rich and powerfully flavoured, which is OK, but then it should be served differently. It came in a bowl with the burrata in the middle... way too much of the sugo and therefore too overpowering for the burrata. It would have been better served on a flat plate with a very, very thin layer of sugo under the burrata. Another appet...
I lived in Königstein between 2009 and 2012 when was assigned by my employer to Germany, my house was 3 blocks from Lucullus and it was our preferred restaurant in the area........some weeks ago, we spent a long week end in Frankfurt on holidays and having dinner in Lucullus in Königstein was THE highlight of our plans. Very good to see that it has not changed in terms of atmosphere, service, food and wine. What a a place !!!!! Everything was simply perfect, the starters, great pasta, amazing risotto, very good gnocci and a great recommendation on the fish. If in the area, and fancy some great Italian food......this is the place.Consider that is not a cheap option, but a definitely a good on...
This used to be a great place to be, eat, drink, socialize. I have been here many times for many years. It used to have friendly personnel, nice food, and booked-out evenings. What remained is poor service, food is OK but VERY expensive. Positive is the fact that you can get a seat easier now without reservation. I guess the word has been spread and I am not the only one experiencing the deterioration. During the last visit, the waitress did not even bother to bring back the change. She kept every singly penny as a tip without asking and without our approval. Weird! We did not mention it, just left and I do not think I will ever go back.
We wanted to go out for dinner on a friday night - spontaneously. All restaurants were full - not this one. We were happy to get a table and we had heard that this restaurant should be quiet nice. When we got there they gave us the menu for drinks. After 15 Minutes they came back and took our drink order. We asked for the food menu. The not very friendly waiter didn't come back and when we tried to make contact with other waiters who were OBVIOUSLY free didn't feel like coming either, we put the money for the drinks on the table and left. Never had an experience like this one before. The restaurant was not even busy.

We visited lunchtime and asked if there was time for the "surprise" 4 course lunch and were told yes "no problem" 4 adults and a baby.Starters were very good, and for the main we were offered a choice of meat or fish, both were very good. However, during teh second course we were told the kitchen was closing and they would bring the main courses even though we had not finished our pasta dishes.The food was excellent but the whole meal spoilt due to the staff rushing us - oh what a pity we wish they had thought a little more about their clients !
While visiting my daughter, we went to this restaurant to celebrate her wedding anniversary. We did go for lunch because we had our two year old granddaughter on tow. The staff was most accommodating to us and did not make us feel unwanted having a toddler with us. The four so us all ordered different items to share and everything was delicious. The restaurant is on the expensive side, but the food was delightful and worth it for a special occasion. My daughter and son-in-law were back recently and still had a great experience. Well done.
We love this place and every time we visit friends in Germany we try and go for dinner on this trip it wasn't possible so we went for breakfast. Food was great , portion more than adequate and we had a lovely morning relaxing with friends. We did have a reservation and they had set a beautiful table up for us outside with blankets, but unfortunately even with blankets it was a bit too cold. At approx 15 euros pp including tip I feel it was very good value.We will definitely be going back.
The Food was fantastic. Pasta with Ricotta filling and a wornderful grilled tuna steak - one of the best meals I have had in a long time.The young service team was excellent and the seating outside was another Highlight.Over the years the food has always been good but we have been disappinted by the service here - €20 rip off for a glass of wine and furniture being moved around in the middle of our meal but this experience was perfect - we will come again.

Lucullus is a fine Italian restaurant in the city of Koenigstein. The location is a bit hidden and is in a quite environment. The menu has good variety of pasta, meat and fish dishes. Italian wine selection is also good. It is a bit pricey but you get high quality for the money. Would I recommed? Yes. Would I come back? Under certain circumstances yes.
