Lussmanns - Hitchin

I attended the restaurant with my partner as it appeared a nice place to eat from the outside. To be honest the choice of food was not really appealing but we were already there so though we would go ahead and order. I chose chicken and my partner ordered steak and chips. The chicken did taste good with the sauce, however I asked for an alternative to mushroom, and noticed that they did not remove it completely. The green beans was a nice alternative but the meal was not filling so it was just chicken in sauce and green beans. The steak had all the flavour but as it was not tender but chewy it left my partner feeling very disappointed. Desert Bramley Apple Crumble with nuts and Ice Cream So...

Mothers day meal out, starters of lobster bisque with cod cheeks looked extremely underwhelming, and was inedible due to the sheer amount of salt added us Asians LOVE salt, but even for us, it was completely horrible. The server said the recipe has never changed but does the chef even taste the food? Anyone with half a palate will tell you that is over salted. Offered other starters much better. Mains were disappointing steak tough and chewy, bacon chop not really distinguishable as it looked like a mess on a plate. desserts okay. waiter really likes to put empty trays under his armpit, not a good look. Overall we wont be back.

This restaurant review can be rewritten as: "I had a leisurely Saturday lunch at this restaurant. The atmosphere and setting were lovely, with high-quality decor and extremely comfortable seating. The food was outstanding, with the set menu offering great value. The service was friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. I particularly appreciated that water was provided without having to ask, as it's these small touches that enhance the overall dining experience."

My friends and I had lunch at Lussmanns on Thursday and we had a great time. The restaurant is clean and well-lit, and the service was exceptional. We opted for the fixed price menu, which had everything we wanted from the a la carte menu. It was a fantastic deal. The Kipper Pate was tasty, and the Sole was expertly cooked and plated. The South African Sauvignon Blanc paired perfectly with the fish. Overall, it was a lovely experience and we can't wait to go back again. Réservez une table maintenant

We came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and weren 't disappointed. We were warmly wlecomed, with a Happy Anniversary which set the tone for an extremely pleasant visit. Knowledgable and friendly staff helped us select our meals, which were from a fairly limited menu (not in a bad way) and were absolutely delicious. Our meals arrived in good time and the portion sizes were spot on. Not too much, not not too little. We will definately be visiting again.

I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. We were seated at a table in the corner near the door, far from the main dining area. The ambiance was non-existent and it felt like an odd place to enjoy a meal. The food was tasteless and uninspiring, with watery and unappealing vegetables. The flat bread was not worth its high price. I will not be coming back, as I do not enjoy paying for overpriced and mediocre meals.

Had a wonderful evening with friends. Stuart our waiter was exceptional…friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. We had the fixed price meal if you dine before 6.30pm and although it’s a smaller menu there was plenty of choice including options for vegetarians- I thoroughly recommend the courgette and basil arancini! The food was delicious! There was a lovely ambience at Lussmans and we did not feel rushed at all. Can’t wait to return!

The service is not great and the food is over rated over priced wouldnt go again Would be nice to have bill placed on a plate and put in front of you rather than heres you bill this is our 2nd visit thought we would try again as havnt been for a long time would not recommend Réservez une table maintenant

The set menu had a good range and included a chicory salad with ewes' cheese, kipper pate, sole, steak and chips, rhubarb with orange sorbet and date pudding were all delicious. The waiter was attentive and friendly and we had an enjoyable and relaxed lunch.

Beautiful tasty food, relaxed ambience, superb service as always. We really appreciated not being rushed a perfect meal.
