When my boss comes to Alberta to work with me I like to take her to new places for lunch or dinner. Her love of Pizza, Sushi and Mexican can make it tricky, as we haven't got too many places to go to that are Mexican, and pizza or sushi is always hit and miss.While in Ft McLeod - a very small place on our map 55 k from Lethbridge - I asked a customer we were seeing where we should go for a great lunch, and this is where she suggested we go without hesitation. We discovered the restaurant by searching Trip Advisor. As we walked in a young lady said we could sit wherever we wanted. As it was between the lunch and dinner rush.It turned out to be fantastic as we had some very sensitive topics to discuss and after an emotionally charged day we were also able to laugh and p carry on without worrying about disturbing other tables.Tawny (I certainly hope I've spelled her name correctly) is a truly wonderful young lady and was just fantastic. My husband and I were coming home from a medical appointment in Calgary. We decided to stop in Fort MacLeod for supper. We chose MacLeod's restaurant and lounge. The young lady that waited on us is such a polite and bubbly person, we just loved her! She interacted with us and truly made us feel as though we were valued customers. Her name is Tawney and she truly is a wonderful member of the staff at this restaurant. Too bad all experiences were not like this one. Cudoos to you Tawney!
We ordered two 12-inch pizzas today. The waitress told us they are made from scratch and would take about 30 minutes..well worth the wait. My wife had a gluten-free Hawaiian pizza (she has celiac) and I had a veggie pizza. Both were excellent and at $28 for both (AND we took away half of both pizzas), it was also good value. We do not eat out a lot, but I'd say this is the most satisfied I've been with a restaurant meal in a long time. Réservez une table maintenant
The is the first place we stopped at. The tables were still full of previous diners' dishes and one girl didn't even acknowledge people were waiting to be helped. She just went back to talking to her friend. The other girl tried to make up for it saying she would make sure the table gets cleaned (Even told the 1st girl tables needed clearing, but the first girl ignored her.) By that time hubby just wanted to find another place.
Mashed potatoes should not be beaten to death and all gooey and sticky. The gravy was good so we got extra to soak the mashed in. Veal cutlets were overcooked and dry despite copious amounts of gravy. They looked like frozen ones thrown into a deep fryer. Quite disappointed in the food but our young server was pleasant and efficient. Not her fault the cook was failing miserably. Prices were reasonable though.
