My wife is from England and saw that this place was called a proper pub so she said we had to stop to see if it was truly a proper pub. We saw the menu and she was happy to see bangers and mash on the menu and ordered that, I was smart and tried the Guness Stew on an 85 degree day. Besides being overheated due to eating a stew on a hot day, the food was amazing and my wife was happy to have some food that reminded her of home.
Everything about this place is awesome Had the loaded tots for an appetizer. For my meal I had a build your own burger with ghost peppers cheese and mushrooms and a side of mashed potatoes. All the food was great Service was on point as well. They were here when we needed refills and took care of us without being overwhelming. Will definitely come back!
Had a simple salad but they were out of cucumbers and croutons apparently so it was just lettuce and cheese (I asked for no onion). Was quiet inside which was nice.

Mac's Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants in the Short North - an area known for having a variety of good restaurants.
I had the proper burger and it was excellent. The staff was also very nice and observant of our needs.
