I absolutely love a great neighborhood bar rich in history (yes I said rich in history), I am Gen X'er after all and we love a regular bar without all the nonsense. THIS place was a highlight of our holiday vacation to Miami Beach this Christmas which we walked to after having dinner at the former Versace Mansion and what a great way to cap off that dinner. There were five of us and we miraculously found five chairs at the bar against the wall and were served by a wonderful female bartender who took great care of us for the roughly two hours we were there. Serving up a nice strong no frills drink, and ensuring we had full waters at all times, the service was exceptional she checked in often...
Amazing bar! The ambiance is fantastic and there’s a lot of fun to be had. I live just down the street and would likely visit weekly, but the bartenders are among the rudest I've encountered. While I understand they might feel a sense of superiority in the heart of South Beach, I visited during the off-peak season and the bartenders still had a privileged attitude and were quite unfriendly. With 25 years of experience in the bar industry and connections to many current bartenders, I can confidently say this staff takes the prize for rudeness. If you have a good group of friends to enjoy the place with and can overlook the staff’s behavior, it's a great spot. Just be prepared for some attitud...
I've had so many great experiences at this place over the past 15 years. I remember attending every Art Basel and Winter Music Conference before heading to Playground. The drinks are affordable, the atmosphere is immersive, and the staff is fantastic, all while being located in the heart of South Beach. This venue is iconic, and I truly hope it remains a staple, unlike many other places that have vanished.
I visited this restaurant a few months back during a road trip. The interior is really cool and lively. I enjoyed plenty of cold High Life, while my friend opted for some craft beer. The prices are reasonable, but it's cash only. The service was outstanding, with a bartender who used to manage a pub in Clapham, making for great conversation throughout the night. This is a classic old-school dive bar tucked away on a side street. The atmosphere is fantastic, with friendly patrons all around. They offer affordable beer and excellent happy hour deals. The vibe is enhanced by rock music, and they've got a pool table too. I absolutely loved my time here!
