My husband and I have been going to Mai Phuong once a week since we moved to Regina 5 years ago. Naturally we tried several other restaurants (we're from Montreal so were used to a lot of variety), but we always keep come back to Mai Phuong as our tried and true. The owners are just delightful, hard working people, who have truly mastered offering a varied menu of widely diverse dishes, always fresh, always tasty, while still being very reasonably priced. Perennial favourites for us are their Vietnamese spring rolls (the best in town!), sizzling chicken hot plate, beef gai lan, lemongrass chicken, spicy shrimps, to mention just a few. A true gem and a real find for us!
I stopped by as I was intrigued by the reviews. I had a bowl of Pho that was very good and good sized. It might have been a little thinner than some of its competitors and I say might but at almost 40% cheaper than most, it was excellent value. I didn't have any but I did look at the lunch buffet and it looked a bit better than average and if I remember correctly it was very reasonably priced as well. I understand why they have a loyal customer base. The interior was clean but a little dated.
we have been frequenting this establishment any chance we have in the past few years,,food has always been fresh and extremely good in our opinion..small restaurant that has a family feel about it..always good service and never a bad meal in our experience. we do not do the buffet but always order from the menue but I assume the buffet would be as good....Highly recomended
Yes I have been going to Mia Phong's for 26 years. At least once a month. My all time favorite restaurant in Regina. Have never had a bad meal. Have ordered it at work and family gathering. Had supper there tonight with friends from out of town and that's where they wanted to go.
