Went for dinner in Nelson after a very long drive from Calgary. We were in a daze from driving all day and after checking into the hotel, wandered out onto the Main Street. Warning for those travelling thru Nelson: most things in the downtown area are closed early on Sunday evenings. Watch what you order. We used to go here often and were very happy. A one piece fish and chips came with coleslaw and a good portion on fries. Now you get a bit of fries and fish on a small plate for about the same price the full one piece meal was before. They lost a long time customer.

Be cautious with your order selection at this restaurant. We used to visit frequently and were always pleased with our meals. The one-piece fish and chips used to come with a side of coleslaw and a generous portion of fries. However, the portion size has changed now.

This restaurant in Nelson is now our top choice. The leg of lamb is tender and full of flavor. No need for mint sauce or mango chutney - the lamb stands on its own. We could eat it every day.
