Went here recently and I can only think this place must have changed hands - no familiar faces and the food is different. The Chicken Laksa was dreadful - absolutely no flavour or spice - was insipid and seemed watery. It also had all this carrot and celery in it - see photo. I added some sambal paste but it did not help much. Sorry, but you can't just throw anything into a dish and think consumers will just accept anything. For $12 is was a rip-off.Compare this to Laksa you get at Hawker in the city (Sussex st) - same people that run Mamak. They also charge $12 for a Laksa - and the 2 dishes could not be so contrasting. Really disappointing.

We ordered the Crispy Chicken Laksa and the Mee Goreng and tea for two. Total Cost $22.00 The Laksa was excellent (but slightly too spicy for my bland taste buds) with a side serve of crispy chicken done to perfection. The ample serving of Mee Goreng was delicious and the plate licked clean. The eating area is clean and spotless, has a tissue box for your serviettes and has a shopping centre arcade feel.. OK it is in a shopping centre arcade but the food is worthy of a more sophisticated restaurant. Very enjoyable.

The crispy chicken laksa is perfect,In fact any chicken dish is cooked to perfection. Satay, curry or chicken wings. My son loves the me goring, wife the prawn laksa.$9.00 for the best laksa! Lovely staff always clean best thing to happen to dee why.Took some indo friends there and they loved it.Only fault is they dont home deliver, then again if they did id eat in malaysia every other night.

Look, if you've never tried good Malay food then I can see why some reviewers might find this interesting. However just know that you can do MUCH better. Even the chain "Papa Rich" popping up now in shopping centers has vastly superior curry. Tasty and rich. The chicken curry here is weak and thin.Very friendly staff. The roti were good.
