Went with friends to this amazing place for breakfast. They had the eggs with bacon. Me! I had the pancakes and they were absolutely awesome. I can honestly say these were the best ones I have had in a very, very long time. I was unsure how the mandarin flavour mixed with the poppy seed pancakes were going to taste but they blew me away. They also sell clothing, jewellery and they also make and sell their own preserved fruits, vegetables jams that looked wonderful as well all done on the premises!!. The staff were so friendly and they were really helpful. This shop is worth a visit if you are in Melbourne or going near Hawthorn. It is a smallish building but bursting with wonderful food coff...
Great to see a new café in Auburn Rd and open throughout Christmas and New Year as well! The food has deli style offerings of cheese and meats etc with fresh or toasted sandwiches and platters as required. There are lots of interesting condiments and deli fare to buy and take away. The staff are really helpful and attentive and the coffee is great. A good range of local fare and cheeses to choose from. Just walk through the dress shop to the café out back or if you are like me leave your wife to shop in the store while you enjoy a quiet coffee in peace! Highly recommended for something a bit different to other local cafes.
Went to Mallalieu this morning, and could not have been happier!Im not sure if it was the delicious food cooked to perfection (we had the brekky bowl and the parmesan french toast with salmon), or the perfectly made coffee, or the tasting of the raw peanut butter brownie, or the sweetest attentive service, but we left feeling awesome.You can really feel the passion the team put in to create, cook, merchandise (the boutique), clean and be of service to thier customers.
I went to Mallalieu for brunch this morning and ordered the smashed avocado with bacon. It was absolutely delicious! The dish was beautifully presented and offered great value. I also found a couple of Christmas presents in the boutique. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The restaurant has a chilled and relaxed atmosphere. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend it.

This cafe is a hidden gem. Step inside past the shop front and you'll feel like you're in another world, whether you choose to sit in the cozy indoor back room or the enchanting garden area. The coffee meets Melbourne's high standards and the food is top-notch. A visit to this cafe is a must if you're in the Auburn area.
We recently hosted a milestone birthday party at Mallalieu and they did an excellent job. They provided a grazing table, sliders, noodle box delights for our stand-up crowd, mini desserts, and a fantastic birthday cake. Everything tasted delicious. I highly recommend Mallalieu for your next party or function.
Great cafe, named after a family name. I stopped in at 4pm Thursday for a tall long black coffee and warmed apple crumble muffin all very nice. I sat in the quiet courtyard out back (very peaceful and plenty of seating). I will have to visit again. Also open Saturdays.
Easter Lunch with the In-laws. Setting was great and service was friendly and prompt. The food was fresh and delicious. Catered for our Vegan like palate with the Seasonal Bowl. Great hand made deli produce as well.

This is a fantastic new cafe. The lady running it is very friendly and is creating some great deli style lunch platters. I can take a proper break from work as it is away from the street and has a cute garden.
It’s not always easy to find a good dirty chai, especially one made with soy. Gorgeous place to enjoy a warm drink in quiet surrounds with great service.
