Our server, Kaycee, was incredibly friendly and offered excellent recommendations. I hadn't noticed the Seafood Ravioli special, and I'm so glad she pointed it out because it was absolutely divine. We began our meal with calamari, which was light, crispy, and bursting with flavor, complemented by a generous portion of delicious red sauce. We also tried the Sausage Chicken Capri, which is their most popular dish, and it truly was perfection. Mama D's has truly mastered their sauces!

I'm confident to say that this is one of the best restaurants in OC, and this is coming from someone whos been to a lot of places . The food is fresh so well made!!! It wasn't overly cheesy or greasy like other places. We were seated as soon as we walked in. The service was incredibly nice, none of them were seen without a smile. Our waitress was Abby, and she was super caring and willing to accommodate everyone's needs. Basically, she's the perfect waitress you could ask for. We began our meal with calamari and shared a Caesar salad. The lettuce was incredibly fresh, and the dressing was light and not overpowering, unlike many Caesar dressings I’ve had in the past. The pink sauce was an extraordinary flavor I had never encountered before! My husband chose the baked ziti with spicy pink sauce, and it was so delicious that there was nothing left on the plate! I’ve never felt so excited to settle our bill, especially when it arrived with complimentary freshly baked chocolate chip cookies! As someone who is eight months pregnant, those cookies were the cherry on top of an already wonderful dining experience!
I was really in the mood for Chicken Parm tonight but as an Italian American who grew up in NYC I am very particular about Italian restaurants. I saw that this restaurant was highly reviewed and saw a number of groups outside waiting for a table andafter eating here I know why! Really great Italian American food their sauces are fantastic. Portions are also very large I?m a hearty eater and I could barely finish. As good as their food is (and it really is good! the service may arguably bebetter. Everyone was super friendly and attentive despite the fact the restaurant was extremely busy. Highly recommended

Our first time visiting Newport Beach. Every video itinerary said to come here. Likely the nicest staff I’ve ever met. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. I am conflicted writing this as I know it will impact their tips but the food y’all : Tables are very, very close but once you get squeezed in you kinda forget. The food wasn’t great. My daughter sent hers back. Mine was mediocre at best. My mom had the best dish- chicken sausage capri. Cookies were like hockey pucks. I’m assuming we caught a bad night but we wouldn’t return.
My parents and I have been staying at a friend’s house in the Peninsula to escape the fires near our home in Pasadena. The whole Mama D’s staff was nothing but welcoming and comforting during this tough time for us. Shoutout to our server, Noah, you made our day! Excellent service, food, and tasted like a home cooked meal! Great find at Newport Beach and the restaurant is a local favorite and now mine.
