Arrived for an early booking for people at the restaurant last night to be grilled at the entrance as to why they had no record of our booking. We had to provide evidence of the time and date that I made the booking, which...luckily I could do through the magic of i-phone. They reluctantly seated us in what was an otherwise empty restaurant. The wait staff was friendly enough once we were seated. Entrees were a mixed bag it seemed like the sizzling prawn entree was based on frozen prawns which seriously detracted from the experience. This venue is quite a treasure. We dined for dinner and had a very good meal. Each course was much appreciated by whoever ordered it. I had the seafood spaghetti and it was brimming with seafood in a subtle sauce. Excellent! I also had the...sticky date pudding and it was very good. We brought our own wine, so didn’t look at the wine list. However, being BYO as well must be good. Prices were very reasonable considering the quality of the food. The staff were friendly and professional. They quickly attended to any request. The decor is pleasing and there is no exceptionally loud music. We can certainly recommend this restaurant.
While in Canberra we wanted to try a good Italian restaurant and came across this one and it was fantastic however inside is a little dated but that’s not a reflection on the score as I’m reviewing the food. The food was large serves of...very tasty very homey Italian cooking it made you feel like you were there. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful to point out places of what to see and what to do while in Canberra we absolutely loved it we will definitely be back again next time we are in Canberra
We went for dinner as a family and were looking forward to trying somewhere new. Quite daggy inside. The pasta was quite tasty but I needed more Parmesan cheese and was told I couldn’t have it because of What a joke. They could bring...the food but couldn’t bring a little more cheese in a small dish because a virus that currently does not exist in Canberra. Just an excuse to be stingy I think. Decided to go to Via Dolce for dessert where they know how to treat their customers .

Had dinner here over the long weekend. Phone booking was straightforward and our table was waiting on arrival. My gnocchi was excellent, very fresh, well-sauced and a generous portion size, my partner's chicken was lovely and moist. The tiramisù was excellent too! Staff was very...attentive, if a little slow on the napkins and cutlery for the entrée. The decor was contemporary and elegant and the atmosphere welcoming. Would definitely come here again.
In the past, one could trust this place for good, home style Italian cuisine. My most recent visit was disappointing. The food generally lacked the zest of good Italian cooking. My veal was bland and tough. One of my guests was disappointed with his pasta.. arrabiata which he too thought was lacking in flavour. Another guest left half of his meal on his plate. Perhaps the kitchen was a bit slow in getting up to speed after the Covid lockdown.
The menu here is a chorus of familiar Italian dishes you will get in Australia. However the food is very well cooked and generous in proportions. The veal was milky sweet and the vegetables seasonal and perfectly prepared. The young waiter who looked after us...was sensational. He clearly likes people and was very engaged. Would gladly return again.
We had our first meal out after lockdown. This place welcomed us without a booking. (Please book). I had the seafood pasta and my partner had the tortellini . Both were delicious. Tip- One serve of bread is enough for two people. Prices were reasonable....We will be back soon.

Could not fault this restaurant, we loved it, we all had Veal it was lovely, we had desert it was awesome. The service was excellent. We will return when in Canberra next.
Had an early sitting. The service was polite and timely. The food and wine was delicious. Recommended.
