We were excited to have steak and butter fish and see this vintage hotel. But this dinner was definitely not for us, tourists from Los Angeles. There were a lot of local families having a great time though. The steak was fatty, needed salt and lacked flavor. The cheeseburger tasted like meatloaf. The butterfish has a nice citrus miso cream sauce that was very tasty and complimented the fish. The fish was cooked perfectly but was just so unappealing on the plate. It's your down to earth restaurant that feeds you the old ways in a good healthy style of how we use to eat food back in our younger year and most of all very affordable prices. This you can't get in a high rolling restaurant or hotel . This my friends you have to taste it for yourself to make your own critique Kuros to the personnel that made it happen!

I would leave one a star review if it was possible. I've lived in Hawaii my whole life and eaten local food all over. Let me save you the hassle and just don't go here. It is rubbish! L&L Hawaiian barbecue is way batter. This place is a waste of time.
simple, but effective. a historical Japanese-Hawaiian institution. the Miso butterfish is the best on the menu. I never command anything else. the steaks and black jerseys are in order. side are also simple, but pretty good.
