Today we had an unfortunate incident at this particular location that made us decide to never come back ever again. It was around 2pm and the store was not closing until 2:30pm. But the place looked like it was ready to close. The floors had been washed and were wet with a caution sign placed near the entrance door. My husband who suffers from underlying severe back problems came into the store and on his way out slipped and fell on the wet floor. Despite the sign there was no way of avoiding the wet passage. I was putting my order through and frantically dropped everything to help my husband get back on his feet. My husband was shaken up and asked the staff to at least dry mop the floors as it was a major slipping hazard or start cleaning after the store closes. Meanwhile the staff, all three of them, never offered assistance of any kind, never apologized and never showed any concern. They just stood there looking at us like we were nonexistent. They even refused to talk to us and totally ignored us when we asked questions. There should have been an incident report by the store but it was never offered. Very disappointing in the way this was handled by the establishment. If my husband?s condition deteriorates as a result of this incident legal action may have to be considered.
If you?re looking for a quick bagel fix in the Summit area, Manhattan Bagel is good spot. Pros: Very efficient service (even during high traffic times), good coffee, and fresh ingredients on their bagel sandwiches. Cons: Bagels themselves are just ok (3/5 stars for me). They taste like your standard chain restaurant bagel. I?d likely shy away from getting just a bagel and cream cheese and would stick with their bagel sandwiches. I enjoyed the avocado egg white sandwich on the jalapeño cheddar bagel.
Bagels are soft and not chewable, large selection of flavors. I usually get one of the Bagel cream cheese offers, good quality for good value. Recently one of her maize muffins tried and it was amazingly so definitely that part of my regular order. *Update* the Agriturismo is my new favorite breakfast Sandwich?
