Mantles Fish And Chip

Went there tonight after a long day moving house, what can I say apart from no matter how hungry you are you wouldn't of eaten our order x battered sausage that were pale, cold and slimey. My son recooked them in our oven to...make them a little bit crispy. Even that couldn't revive them so in the bin they went x chicken nuggets ordered got and the grease on the bags was horrendous. x fish, was just inedible full stop x steak and kidney pie with no kidney and dry as a piece of leather. It has obviously been sat in the warmer for hours. I actually managed to see meat once I had chipped off the lid and dug through the burnt crust Chips.....there are no words! Solid, cold and very very greasy C...

Popped in on a visit to Horncastle with my spouse, and had some of the nicest chips I've eaten in a while. Suspect it's the definitely not vegan fat they were cooked in that helped! Portion size for a takeaway was perfect, and their mushy...peas were divine (chips peas on a cold day FTW My other half's fish cake was reportedly Delicious' or at least that's what I THOUGHT she said between bites. Highly recommended and worth a visit.

This place was full when we tried a couple of years ago. This time it was empty. Covid has certainly had an effect here. So I thought the meal would be really good as there was only us to serve. However it was fairly average....I think they were more interested in the takeaway part. Some things missing from the menu too. Don't get me wrongg it wasn't bad but I thought it would be better.

The place and the people were fine, the food was not Both the fish and the chips had a strong unpleasant taste. Chips nondescript, the fish very very greasy Perhaps time the fat was changed Neither of us enjoyed any part of it and left...most of it Would not return or recommend Réservez une table maintenant

We had fish and chips last night. It was lovely. The mushy peas and curry sauce were amazing. My little girl loved the peas and chips. It was a real treat. Definately will go back for another take away and hopefully with the grandparents after...lockdown. stars!

Very well cooked and very tasty. Fish cooked fresh while you wait. Beautiful white, meaty fish with lots of taste. All the staff were friendly and polite. Really enjoyed my meal. Will definitely be going back.

Quite literally the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. The batter and chips together just made a horrible greasy mush, I’m giving it one star because the fish itself wasn’t cooked too bad.

I went in with my little girl to get a fish supper. It was superb. Staff were lovely and they fried our fish fresh. Definately will go again and so local to us. Réservez une table maintenant

Very disappointed. Haddock was dry and chewy and the chips were very undercooked and greasy. Won’t be visiting there again for Fish Chips.

Often nip here for my fish and chips. Staff are always friendly and love my fish and chips from here
