Placed an order for pies, mash, liquor and vinegar for delivery during the latest COVID-19 lockdown in Wales. Ordering was easy, delivery was on the date selected and was well packaged with everything arriving well chilled and in excellent condition, with storage and cooking instructions. When emailed for advice, my query was dealt with swiftly and in a friendly manner. A discrepancy with pricing was dealt with swiftly with a refund being applied to my credit card instantly. Our pie and mash meal was excellent and took us down memory lane from when we lived on London. Now we know that we can order online, we will be a regular at Manze's, even after the COVID-19 lockdown. Without doubt the absolute worst pie and mash we’ve all ever eaten. We’d been to Mother Mash and someone said you should try Manze’s they’re even better. Unfortunately they weren’t they were dreadful. We couldn’t even look them in the eye when we left. Thankfully they never asked how our meal was. Small portions too. Definitely go to Mother Mash far superior.
I have been coming to this restaurant since the 1970s and it is definitely the best pie and mash I have ever had. George, the owner and pie maker, is a wonderful person who took over the shop from his parents in the 1980s. I cannot emphasize enough how amazing the food is here. I always prefer to order a slightly burnt pie, it adds to the flavor.
This restaurant is a fantastic spot for delicious meals, especially for seafood enthusiasts like myself and my husband. We particularly enjoyed the eel dish. Trying the Victorian-style everyday meals that were popular among workers in the past provided a unique and enjoyable experience. This establishment has been around since 1892. This is a top quality, authentic, traditional London eating experience. Pie ‘n Mash shops are gradually closing because if changes in demography and ‘healthy’ eating habits. Manze’s is one of the few remaining. Make the most of an excellent, traditional London eating experience while you can.
