Margaritas Mexican Grill

My husband and I went here for dinner on Jan 27; we wanted to try the new place that's been getting so much buzz. After dining there I gotta say, I don't get it. My husband ordered tacos and I had the enchiladas; both dishes were very bland and lacked any flavor or imagination. The food was hot and it came out of the kitchen fast, but it was not good. We also each ordered a medium sized regular margarita on the rocks, $9 a glass. The margarita mix had a very tart artificial chemical lime flavor and very little if any alcohol. When I pointed this out to the bartender he laughed and added a shot of (rail) tequila to my drink. The dining room was very busy but life is too short to eat mediocre...

Finally, they're open! Place looks great, new and clean. Our server was attentive and prompt. The free pico, salsa, and chips were fresh, delicious. My husband and I shared a combination plate of pork taco, chicken enchilada and ground beef chimichanga. All were very good. I was surprised that the beef in the chimi had a lot of flavor. Usually, I don't like the beef most restaurants serve. Several diners ordered fajitas, which looked, smelled and sounded amazing. We're going to get that next time. I also loved the Paloma drink. Not too sweet, perfect.

I had high expectations for the newly opened Margaritas in Waukesha, but was extremely disappointed with my dining experience. I ordered the pork quesadillas and was disgusted to find what appeared to be a piece of organ in my food. Unable to continue eating, I became nauseated and could not finish my meal. The other appetizers we ordered were also disappointing and seemed to be hastily put together from frozen items. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

What a major disappointment. My wife and I had a taste for Mexican food and decided to try margaritas Mexican grill because of all of the great reviews Needless to say we'll never go back. My wife's food was cold and our food along with the salsa was tasteless. Sorry for such a bad review but it's true. As an owner you should try tasting your food before serving it to your customers.

To start, I was surprised that a Mexican restaurant didn't have any queso. When I asked the waitress for a separate check, she mentioned that the salsa tasted like pizza sauce and the pico de gallo lacked flavor. Not a good experience.
