Marie Jack - Réservation de table

I hope I don't sound too sound gushing ; but we've just had the most wonderful meal ever at the Marie Jack restaurant . My Sister in law , husband & I were early at Portiragnes beach looking at all the menus & the owner let us in for a drink even though it wasn't yet midday .I ordered the champagne & peach cocktail , my husband the pastis & Pat had a glass of red wine whilst we studied the menus & ate the complimentary ripe black olives in herbs de Provence .We decided upon the 11.80 € menu with 1 litre of good house red at only €11.50 .As it has been such a hot day we were happy when the attentive staff opened the terrace up for us to let in some cool air whilst we sipped our drinks & watch...

Chose this restaurant as it was busy and others were not. We both had the €18.90 menu and chose the Caesar and Italian salads as starters , which were good ?My wife had the dourade which was good my son had the main menus Caesar salad which was ample for him, my choice was the calamari with a Roman sauce unfortunately this was quite heavy as it came as a plate of chips and fried calamari with a small salad and no sauce, so had to have ketchup and mayonnaise ! . The waitress spoke very or no English though the main waiter / owner ? Spoke a little . Wouldn't go again though the burgers and large fish plates being served looked good.

Incroyablement, cet endroit nous a été recommandé. Le service était moche et arrogant pour commencer. Bien que nous ayons eu nos entrées comme prévu, ils ont ensuite complètement oublié nous et le reste du repas. Après une heure d'attente, nous l'avons demandé. Nous avons ensuite récupéré nos assiettes petit à petit et nous avons dû tous les quatre aller chercher un couteau et une fourchette pour manger. Nous n'avons pas pris la peine d'attendre le dessert car nous voulions juste sortir de là. Et ai-je oublié de mentionner la nourriture elle-même ? Eh bien, c'était bien en dessous de la moyenne.

Nous avions des opinions mitigées sur notre repas ici. Certains d'entre nous ont choisi les menus fixes, soit le menu ou. Le service était rapide, amical et efficace, mais les légumes de mon entrée en pâte filo étaient trop cuits et mon mari a dû renvoyer ses escalopes de veau parce qu'elles étaient tièdes. Cependant, la salade César était très bonne, tout comme les gambas en plat principal. Les moules avec des frites étaient un peu caoutchouteuses, mais le cabillaud servi avec du riz était bon. Les desserts de Melba aux fraises et de Crème Catalane étaient également très bons. Réservez une table maintenant

3 adults and 3 children arrived here, all very hungry. The maitre de which I presume was the owner was exceptionally welcoming. The menu has an extensive range and anything he could not understand from us, he immediately got a waitress who could interpret. One of the party had ordered a certain type of steak and he explained how it should be cooked to best appreciate it. Food was lovely. Area bit quiet , thinking this is a lovely square in a seaside resort. Prices ok, similar to home in a middle of the road restaurant. Approx prices €15-€18 for main course.

Unbelievably enough, we had this place recommended to us. Service was lousy and arrogant for starters.Although we got our starters as espected, they thereafter completely forgot about us and the rest of the meal. After an hour waiting, we asked for it. We then got our plates little by little, and all four of us had to go in to pick up knife and fork to eat with.We did not bother to wait for dessert as we just wanted to get out of there. And did I forget to mention the food itself? Well, it was well below average.

We have been going to the Marie Jack for several years now and we feel it is still the best restaurant in the vicinity. Even though there was a change of ownership last year, the food is still great and all the ingredients very fresh; we have never had a bad meal there. We were at Portiragnes last month and ate at the Marie Jack three times during our stay. The new owner has settled in well and it's a great comfort to know we can still go there and enjoy a great meal.

Personnel très sympathique, bonne nourriture, endroit merveilleux pour manger. Nous y avons mangé plusieurs fois par semaine, délicieux à chaque fois, pas cher, les enfants ont aussi adoré la nourriture. Nous avons reçu un excellent service pour notre anniversaire de mariage ! Hautement recommandé. Fermé le lundi. Réservez une table maintenant

Parfait. Une belle cuisine française simple. Le service est impeccable et les enfants sont traités comme des rois. Un crédit à son propriétaire et à son personnel. Nous avons adoré et vous remercions d'avoir rendu nos vacances si agréables.

Off season it was open. Well patronized. Good food. Nice friendly service. Convenient. Enjoyable for both lunch and dinner.
