Mariscos Altamar is a hidden gem that our family stumbled upon after an exhilarating day at Sandia Peak's Tramline. With our three kids in tow, we were thrilled to discover a place that effortlessly catered to our entire clan. From the moment we stepped in, the staff welcomed us with warm smiles and seated us promptly. Their friendly and attentive service made us feel right at home. After a couple days in Albuquerque, I needed a green chile fix before returning home. Yelp led me to Mariscos and it was pretty good. The green chili pork had great flavor. The meat itself was pretty tough and grisly. The refried beans were some of the best I have ever had. The service was friendly and fast and the prices were pretty cheap. The neighborhood is pretty rough. I would not take my wife or kids here especially at night. Homelessness and drugs up are nearby this location.

Started with the chips and salsa and cheese dip. I found both salsas a little spicy for my taste (I'm a gringo from NYC), but the cheese dip was delicious creamy, complex, satisfying. I had crab and shrimp enchiladas with green sauce for my entree. Outstanding. Incredibly flavorful and fresh. Service was attentive and efficient. Not lacking in any way. Restaurant was full, but didn't feel crowded. Would definitely recommend!

The flamed oysters were ok but not quite what I was hoping. They needed more flame. The cheese on top was barely melted. The el Diablo sauce needed help from a hefty dose of hot sauce to live up to its name. The place was pleasant, service good and friendly. I will come back and try other items in the large menu. Very good hidden Gem in ABQ! Got a tip from a local and glad we listened! Place was open and clean! Service was real good! And food was beyond expectations! Pretty traditional Mexican food! My Shrimp Entree was great and the Queso Dip was Super Cheesy!

This place is fantastic! Super busy on a Friday night but the food was hot, fresh and delicious and the service was great. The live music was a bonus! Neighborhood is a bit iffy but this place is great!

This place is crazy busy, but it is well worth the wait. Taco's are so good and so were the tamales. I will definitely be back.

Their drinks are good. The ceviche nachos are nah. Ambience js good. Feels like a traditional restaurant but food is meh.
